"Well
some of you may have seen the footage on the local news or in the Sentinel.
My mom and sister lost their house lastnight to a fire that destroyed
75% of the house. It started in the front of the house somewhere. My
mom woke up to smoke and began investigateing it when she saw smoke
and flames in the front of the house. She then ran upstairs and yanked
my sister out of bed and then they were able to run out the back door.
I have to thank the Holland Township Fire Department for trying to save the house. They fought the blaze for hours and they also went inside and removed pictures and photo albums for us while the fire was partially contained. Later in the night the fire spread to the attic and upstairs bedrooms and began to rage with new furry at which point the fire department pulled off. I know some of you have been to the house before for different gatherings throughout the years, it was a sad night and we hated to see it go like this. My mom and sister walked out with only the clothes on their backs. The Red Cross put them up in a hotel lastnight and we will see what happens from here. Please keep them in your prayers. "**UPDATE** Well we were able to go through the house friday afternoon and the damage was complete. The laundry room and the basement did not get touched by the fire. The basement however has 4feet of water in it. Here are a few pictures that I took while walking through it. I can't belive the amount of damage a fire does. I would like to thank everyone on here for the kind words and offers to help out. I will keep in touch with everyone if we do need anything." |
